Miss Edith enjoys having groceries delivered, and frequently avails herself of the Peapod service offered by Stop and Shop.
As a result, the email inbox is occasionally visited by promotional emails from Peapod. Which is fine. And they're mostly inocuous and sometimes even helpful.
This fine morning, however, I was greeted by a subject line that really did cause my jaw to drop, and I'm not sure if that's Peapod's fault or the result of my own filthy mind:
Hot Meat Specials For Mother's Day
Oh, my.

I read your post aloud to Keith-he's still laughing. Our verdict is that someone at Peapod has a wicked and slightly juvenile sense of humor . . .and knew EXACTLY what they titled that e-mail!
Subscribed and found this older gem in my reader.
I also love Peapod grocery delivery. Love, love, love it. I can count on one hand the number of times I've been in a big CT grocery store.
I don't get the emails though. If this is representative, sign me up!
I've been in big local grocery stores many many times -- and there are times when really one does have to make the trip on one's own. But for run of the mill staples, especially heavy things (canned tomatoes; boxes of cat litter; sacks of plain white rice) I do find Peapod to be a real winner of a service. I am an evangelist for Peapod.
